St. Paul’s Lutheran Preschool is a fully licensed, accredited, Christ-centered preschool serving children from infancy through PK. We provide a warm, nurturing environment where children are known, loved and encouraged as they grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically and academically. Our program includes faith formation, play-centered learning, outdoor exploration, kindergarten readiness and a strong connection to the larger St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School community.

Yes. St. Paul’s Lutheran Preschool is accredited through both WASC and NLSA. Accreditation goes beyond basic licensing requirements and reflects our commitment to quality, accountability, reflection and continuous improvement.

We serve children from 6 weeks through age five. Our programs include Infants, Toddlers, Beginners, Juniors and PK.

Our preschool is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am–6:00 pm. We offer full-day, part-day and morning schedule options depending on your child’s age and classroom availability.

Families begin by completing the online application through our admissions page. If your child’s age group is full, your application will place your child on the waitlist.

Yes. Some age groups fill quickly, especially our infant and toddler spaces. Families may join the waitlist by completing the online application and paying the application fee. Additional enrollment paperwork is not needed until a space becomes available.

Yes. If your child has not been born yet, you may still complete an application to join the waitlist. This is recommended, as infant spaces are limited and often fill quickly. While openings can occur at any time when a family leaves, they are most often available at the start of our school year in August and the start of our summer program in June.

When completing the application, you may enter “Baby” as the first name, use the due date as the birthday and upload a document that says “coming soon” in place of the immunization record. Once your child is born, we will update the information.

Yes. We would love to show you our campus. Tours are a great way to see our classrooms, outdoor learning spaces and daily environment while learning more about our programs, schedules and enrollment process. Tours may be scheduled online or by calling the preschool office.

Children are placed in classrooms according to their age by September 1. Our classrooms are designed to meet children where they are while helping them grow toward the next stage of learning.

No. Children do not need to be potty trained to begin in our preschool program. A potty-training fee will apply for preschool students who are not yet fully potty trained. Our teachers support the potty-training process with encouragement, consistency and patience, but children need to be developmentally ready and working toward independence.

Our program is play-centered, hands-on and developmentally appropriate. Children learn through classroom centers, art, music, movement, sensory play, stories, outdoor learning, Bible time and teacher-guided activities. We use One in Christ for Bible time, Zoo-phonics for early literacy and letter-sound development and Get Set for School beginning in our junior level to support pre-writing, early literacy and math skills.

Yes. Faith is woven throughout our day. Children participate in daily Bible time using our One in Christ curriculum, along with prayer and faith conversations in the classroom. Preschool students also attend weekly chapel, where they worship, sing, pray and hear a biblical message.

Yes. Outdoor play and outdoor learning are a significant part of our daily program. Children spend a generous amount of time outside each day in our playgrounds and Outdoor Classroom spaces, where they can move, explore, create, problem-solve and experience God’s creation. We also have commercial-grade misters in our outdoor areas, which help us continue using our outdoor spaces even when the weather is warm.

Brightwheel is our primary communication tool between parents and teachers. Families receive classroom updates, photos and daily information through the app. The weekly preschool newsletter, The Seaside Sentinel, is also sent to families through Brightwheel.

Separation anxiety is very normal in early childhood. Some children adjust quickly, while others need more time. We encourage short, calm and consistent goodbyes. Teachers are ready to comfort children and help them settle into the classroom routine.

Families receive a Parent Handbook during the enrollment process. The handbook includes more detailed information about health and illness policies, drop-off and pick-up procedures, supplies, snacks and lunches, potty training, behavior guidance, safety procedures and daily routines.
